November 2015 Video Games: Triple AAA games vying for your cash

Fall is setup to be an incredible time for video games, but limiting the year to just this fall seasonwould be a terrible injustice, since 2015 has seen quite a few stellar games released. The November release schedule shows no sign of stopping that train as it looks to test your savings account stability for the upcoming holiday season.

With a huge bounty of video games available and (typically) limited funds, what is a gamer to do. This is an outstanding problem to have as it signifies just how far the industry has come to be able to satisfy customers month after month with consistent quality.

Here are a few of the highlights for the crazy month of November which features and insane number of video games that probably will be holding players attention all the way into the new year.

Anno 2205 | PC | November 3

Anno_2205In this sixth entry of the Anno Franchise, players are tasked with managing their own futuristic corporation and economy. The player will need to manage their initial city, as well as other cities they create; managing funds and resources while attempting to research new technologies. In addition the player will need to satisfy citizen needs as well as maintaining a stable economy.

Much like Anno 2070, the player is able to make colonies on the moon; however with Anno 2205, the player can enjoy session mode which allows the player to manage their worldly cities and their moon colonies simultaneously. Cities in Anno 2205 are stated to be five times larger than in other games in the franchise; so players will have their work cut out for them as they attempt to keep their economy working and keep civilization alive.

Need for Speed |Xbox One, PS4, PC | November 3

Need_For_SpeedIn this reboot of the Need for Speed franchise; players will be able to race in all new locales and customize their cars like never before. Need for Speed has a new and improved customization system, and also allows players to own up to five cars at a time, making it possible for players to customize and sell a variety of cars, or even to use a variety of them for different applications.

Need for Speed is turning up the heat with an all new story and brand new gameplay elements that fans are sure to love.

Peanuts: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure | Xbox One, 360, PS4, Wii U, 3DS | November 3

peanutsIn this companion title to the new Peanuts feature film; play as Snoopy (and Woodstock in co-op) as he attempts to track down Charlie Brown. Snoopy’s Grand Adventure is a side-scrolling platformer that will also enable the player to customize Snoopy, and in co-op Woodstock will also be customizable.

Not much else is known just yet, but it’ll be an interesting surprise when Peanuts: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure releases on November 3rd.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III | Xbox One, PS4, PC | November 6

black_ops_3Call of Duty: Black Ops III is a departure of sorts for the series, with both the campaign and zombies mode delving into new territory. The Campaign itself is set in a dystopian future 40 years after Call of Duty Black Ops II, where super soldiers take to the battlefield and science and technology have grown in leaps and bounds.

On the opposite side, the Zombies mode is said to contain an all new story with lovecraftian occult elements; as well as four playable characters with unique personalities and voice actors (much like the single player standard campaign.)

Both campaign and story options are designed for 4 player multiplayer co-op, but numerous multiplayer options are available as in previous games. Call of Duty Black Ops III delves into brand new territory but should appeal to fans of the series and to new players.

Yo-Kai Watch | 3DS | November 6

yo-kai+watch+Yo-Kai Watch puts players in the role of Nathan ‘Nate’ Adams, who is given the titular Yo-Kai Watch which gives him the ability to see, befriend and defeat various friendly and non-friendly Yo-kai; Yo-Kai are spirits that inhabit the world and cause mischief.

Join Nate as he befriends a wide array of Yo-Kai and battles with them to defeat evil Yo-kai who wish to disrupt life as Nate knows it. In this new roleplaying adventure, it is up to the player to assist Nate in his quest.

Alekhine’s Gun |Xbox One, PS4, PC | November 10

alekhine's gunAlekhine’s Gun is the sequel to Death to Spies: Moment of Truth, and is a first person shooter set during the Cold War and World War II; play as a spy sent on various missions in open maps that are designed with multiple solutions to the player’s objectives.

Alekine’s Gun allows the player the freedom to play as they wish in a historical setting steeped with spycraft and mystery.

Fallout 4 |Xbox One, PS4, PC | November 10

fallout-4Fallout 4 is the latest in the Fallout Franchise; in which the player is put in the role of a survivor of a nuclear holocaust that happened 200 years before. The player will emerge from the vault, and is able to be either male or female; regardless he or she will be fully voiced, and will have their name spoken if chosen out of a list of pre-recorded names that numbers over 100 specific names.

The player will wander the wasteland, set in a new environment from previous games that is said to take place in Boston, Massachusetts; as with other games in the franchise they will interact with NPC’s, undertake quests, and explore the wasteland defeating enemies. New to the franchise is the ability to build settlements and structures; with merchants and NPC’s that are able to settle under the player’s protection. Weapon customization has been overhauled as well, with over 700 weapon modifications for 50 different base weapons.

Fallout 4 is bigger than any Fallout title to date, and is sure to be a frontrunner for many game of the year awards this year.

Rise of the Tomb Raider |Xbox One, Xbox 360 | November 10

rise_of_the_tomb_raiderSet after 2013’s Tomb Raider; join Lara Croft as she races against the Trinity Organization to prove that the supernatural is real and prevent a cover-up of the experiences that changed her outlook on the world in the previous game.

Lara will pursue the ancient city of Kitezh which is said to hold the key to immortality.

The player will need to aid Lara as she tries to survive in the environment against those who wish to prevent her from carrying out her plans, as well as animals and natural hostile elements of the environment.

See Lara’s rise to become who she has been destined to become when Rise of the Tomb Raider releases on November 10th as a timed Xbox exclusive.

Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void | PC, Mac | November 10

starcraft-ii-legacy-of-the-voidIn the final expansion to Starcraft II; join Artanis as he attempts to unite various Protoss tribes in order to ensure the race’s survival.

With a wide variety of new gameplay elements, Starcraft II: Legacy of the void attempts to add a sort of choice and consequence system; as befriending one clan of Protoss may make enemies of another clan, making diplomacy an important factor.

Previous protagonists Sarah Kerrigan and Jim Raynor will have a role to play in Legacy of the Void as well.

Rodea The Sky Soldier | Wii U, 3DS | November 10

rodeoIn this “flying action” game, the player will control Rodea by drawing on the Wii U gamepad or the 3DS touch screen in order to propel him toward his destination.

Rodea will also fight in the air, as he works to not only restore his memories, but save the land of Garuda from an invasion by the land of Naga, a mechanized nation that is bent on invading and subjugating the floating world of Garuda.

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival | Wii U | November 13

amiibo-festivalAnimal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is a spinoff of the Animal Crossing series that is a board game in the vein of Mario Party.

Four of the eight announced playable characters will have amiibo figurines based on them, while the Amiibo cards present in Animal Crossing: Happy Home designer will also be compatible with the game.

Amiibo of some sort will be required to play, but the game itself is designed as a party game.

Star Wars Battlefront | Xbox One, PS4, PC | November 17

star_wars_battlefrontStar Wars Battlefront is a multiplayer game that allows players to take part in numerous battles in the Star Wars Universe; exploring planets like Hoth, Tattooine, and Endor while fighting alongside or against popular characters in the franchise such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.

The player will be able to play as some of these characters as well, but there will not be a single player campaign, instead there will be a wide variety of multiplayer modes, skirmishes and campaigns to enjoy alongside other players.

Enjoy 12 different multiplayer maps at launch and play with up to a max of 40 players online and with friends in local multiplayer as they return to the world of Star Wars in the newest game of the Battlefront franchise.

Stella Glow | 3DS | November 17

Stella-GlowIn this new Tactical Strategy game by the same developers of Luminous Arc, join Alto, a country boy from a world where songs have been absent from the planet for thousands of years.

Alto uncovers Hilda, a witch who plans to destroy the world, and after being rescued by the Royal Knights, goes on a quest to recruit other witches to stop Hilda and protect the world from destruction.

Experience an all new Tactical Strategy RPG with Stella Glow, when it releases on November 17th.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song | PS4, Vita | November 17

sword_art_onlineIn Sword Art Online: Lost Song, play as 19 different characters (16 of which, including 2 DLC characters are popular characters from the manga and anime, while 3 are new characters created specifically for Lost Song) in an original storyline set in the world of Alfheim.

Players will be able to create their own character protagonist as well, however the game will still act as though the protagonist is Kirito. The player will make parties of three characters, fighting enemies both on the ground and in the air; however in dungeons the characters will be unable to fight in the air and will be relegated to ground combat only.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song is a game that fans of the Sword Art Online series are sure to love.

Deadpool | PS4, Xbox One| November 18

deadpoolDeadpool is coming to Next Generation consoles!

Join Deadpool in his very own game as Deadpool attempts to make his game “The Most Awesome Game Ever” and goes up against all sorts of bad guys including sentinels and even Mr Sinister himself.

Deadpool also teams up with characters like Rogue and Cable in this action beat-em-up to prevent the destruction of everyone on earth (and Deadpool’s favorite Chimichanga vendor. )

Mayan Death Robot | PC | November 20

Mayan_Death_RobotsIn this multiplayer game that takes inspiration from the Worms series; play as one of many robots in a mayan inspired world as the players attempt to destroy the competition.

The players will need to build defenses as well as a stable offensive if they plan to wow the Mayan citizens and destroy the competition.

When the Mayan Gods grow angry, the players will need to join forces with their opponents in order to take down huge bosses as well.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash | Wii U | November 20

WiiU_MarioTennisUltraSmashIn the latest Mario Tennis game, players will be able to compete in one on one and two person team matches; with a variety of power-ups that change how the game is played.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash will not require motion control, but will offer a wide roster of Mario characters to choose from. Return to the Tennis Court with Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash on November 20th.

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon | 3DS | November 20

pokemonPokémon Super Mystery Dungeon puts the player in the role of one of 20 Pokémon (including all 18 starter Pokémon from main series entries, as well as Pikachu and Riolu) as they journey through procedurally generated dungeons with their partners, in order to stop a crisis that threatens to destroy the Pokémon world.

The game features all 720 currently released Pokémon, and allows the player to undergo an all new Pokémon adventure.
